Information from International Student Services
International students can request a late arrival letter for immigration purposes if they are currently enrolled in Winter 2021 and cannot travel to Canada now but will be travelling before April 1, 2021.
Only international applicants who have accepted their offer of admission, paid the admission confirmation deposit, and are enrolled can make a late arrival request.
A reminder that the new policy for admission confirmation deposits will come into effect for Fall 2021. The $1000 CAD deposit will not be refundable, even if a study permit is denied or the students’ plans change.
If a student registers in and takes online courses during Winter 2021, and their study permit is later denied, tuition and fees will not be refunded for classes that the students remain registered in after the last day to add/drop (January 15, 2021).
While students can start studying online without an approved study permit, we do not recommend this as it is unknown if it will be approved. Starting prior to approval completion is at the student’s own risk. We strongly recommend students book an appointment with an international specialist at MacEwan International if they have questions.
Winter and Spring 2021 Recruitment
The Winter 2021 recruitment schedule is filling up fast. The International Student Recruitment team will again focus on virtual opportunities to connect with prospective students from January to May 2021.
Program Areas Update
Bachelor of Design and Diploma exit option.
Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Design program are eligible to exit with a diploma after completing the first 60 credits (2 years) of the Bachelor of Design, as per the official program of study.
Please note this is a great option for students interested in Design but looking for a shorter-term program. Students will still have to apply through the Bachelor degree.
