Pre-Departure COVID-19 Test – for students exiting Canada

Summer holidays are approaching. Are you planning to return home after the end of the school year, June
29, 2021? If you plan to travel, it is important for you to check with the destination country or countries
that you will travel to and through, about:

• whether you are required to take a COVID-19 pre-departure test,
• what are the country’s specific testing requirements, and
• whether the country require you to present a valid negative COVID-19 test result within an acceptable testing time frame relative to either your departure time or arrival time before you are allowed to transit through or enter.

After you have confirmed your flight schedule, it is important to book your pre-departure test ahead of
time during the peak travelling period in June/July. Please visit the following websites for information of

The cost of a pre-departure test varies from one to another, and it is not covered by your medical insurance.

Before you return to Vancouver for the new school year in August, please review the “Pre-Departure &
Arrival Notice” emailed to you on May 6, 2021. Students who are outside of Canada need to follow special
procedures to travel to Canada.
