Greetings from the College of New Caledonia!
We are very excited to receive our students’ visa confirmations and requests for letters of support to assist them with their planned travel to Canada. It is positive news to hear that things appear to be moving now in terms of visa processing and our students are able to prepare to begin their studies.
I’m writing today with two important updates:
UPDATE FOR MAY SEMESTER: our Admissions team has been tracking all incoming visa confirmations and has confirmed that our Intersession 2021 (May semester) intake is now FULL for all programs EXCEPT Post Diploma in Information Technologies (PDIT) and Post Diploma in Human Resources Management (PD-HRM). For these latter two programs, we will continue to accept visa confirmations until the programs reach capacity. Please be advised that any visa confirmations received after April 9, 2021 EXCEPT for those for PDIT and PD-HRM, will be automatically deferred to our September 2021 semester. Our Admissions team will track and re-issue Letters of Acceptance (LOA) for any students being deferred to the Fall 2021 intake.
PREPARING FOR STUDY: over the course of the coming weeks, all our incoming students will be invited to attend information webinars to help them prepare for their studies at CNC. We will provide details on travel and quarantine requirements, student orientation, our Peer Connections program, online study skills and much more. Any student planning to travel to Canada must contact International Education via e-mail: [email protected] to request a letter of support – in order to provide this we need a copy of the following documentation:
- Copy of student’s passport
- Copy of student’s visa confirmation
- Copy of student’s flight itinerary
- Copy of student’s quarantine plan (hotel confirmations is also accepted)
- Proof (screen shot) that student has downloaded the iCent app for daily quarantine monitoring
Please ensure at least two weeks’ notice of the student’s planned travel date as we have a high volume of students currently travelling and want to ensure we are able to provide all documents requested in timely fashion.
