IRCC: “If we receive your complete study permit application by May 15, 2021, you’ll get a decision by August 6, 2021, in time to attend the fall semester.” The website is also listing 12 weeks as the progressing time.

This is encouraged for students to accept their offers sooner and submit their visa application soonest in time for Fall semester, which we have been advocating for.

However, even if you are not able to submit the applications before May 15, it’s not the end of the world. IRCC states that they will process it as quickly as possible, it’s just that they couldn’t commit to have the outcome before August 6.

A gentle reminder that students are not required to have visas to study online and Navitas Canada colleges allow students to defer their commencement of study at no cost in worst scenario they couldn’t get a visa in time.
