The 2021 Spring Term is primarily being offered online with a variety of schedules to accommodate students’ needs. This flexibility in delivery models supports many of our students who may also be working or living in different time zones.
The Faculties and service areas strive to deliver the same level of high-quality education our partners and students expect, despite the change to remote learning.
The International Student Orientation welcomed approximately 400 new students who started programs at Langara. All new students receive helpful information by email from their International Student Coordinator and can join daily drop in advising sessions.
We are committed to providing our students with academic and personal support to promote their academic success and personal wellbeing.

English Language Requirements and Duolingo
The College has made some small changes to English Language Proficiency categories to include students who are completing GCSE O-Levels. While many testing centres remain closed, Duolingo is currently being accepted for many programs. For those programs, the individual band score requirements for IELTS is also being waived.
Please review the updated English Language Requirements.
Fee Payment Reminder
Students are encouraged to pay their fees through one of our payment portals or by credit card. The Student Account counter is currently closed and is not accepting cash payments.
Please contact the homestay team directly if your student is applying for a homestay placement.

The Langara English for Academic Preparation (LEAP) program is currently being delivered remotely through Langara’s online learning platform. For the current semester, students had the option to enrol in a morning or an afternoon session of instruction to better accommodate different time zones. Many students are successfully completing this program from around the world and we look forward to welcoming more students in future semesters. We will be monitoring the success and interest in the new time block to make decisions about future sessions.
Placement tests are currently happening online, about one month prior to the start of the new session. Important details are sent by email for this test.
Applicants were invited to join an information session for the LEAP program. This information session included instructor and student participation.
The latest information on the College’s response to COVID-19 can be found on the college’s website, www.langara.ca/covid.
