Extended Online Learning until February 10, 2021
As you may know, the Government of Ontario has announced that all publicly funded schools in Toronto will not return to in-person instruction until February 10, 2021. As a result, elementary and secondary schools will continue to accommodate remote learning for students enrolled in in-person learning. Students already doing online learning are not affected and can continue to pursue their studies.

Our office cannot book assessments until we receive your approved arrival plan and receipt from ArriveCAN (please refer to the New Requirements for International Travellers Section in this issue). This should be done two weeks before departure. All arrivals now require a valid STUDY PERMIT or Proof of approval for a study permit (regardless of the length of your program)

Mark Withdrawal Date for Quad Two: January 20, 2021
Grade 11 or grade 12 students must submit the Course Withdrawal Request Form by January 20. For Quad 2, please note that any course demitted after January 20 will show up on your transcript. If you plan to drop a course, please consult your counsellor. You may contact your counsellor or teacher for the Course Withdrawal Request Form.

There is no formal mid-term reporting period. You or your custodian can communicate with your teachers for an update of your academic progress. The breakdown of mark maintains the 70/30 split between course work and the final evaluation. Therefore, it is very important to submit course work to your teachers on a regular basis. A good practice is to keep you teachers immediately informed if you cannot meet the deadline. It’s now the time for you to make sure you are not missing any course work
Second Semester Night School Credit Courses Registration

Current students can contact your home school guidance counsellor to register course. Please be reminded your annual tuition fee allows you to have 9 credits within an academic year cycle. Additional tuition fee may apply if you are taking more than 9 credits. The public website will be updated and that a revised pdf of the flyer will be posted on February 19th,2021 to reflect cancelled and re-directed courses.
Courses begin the week of February 22, 2021.
NEW Requirements for International Travelers to Enter Canada by Air
If you are travelling to Canada by air, it is now MANDATORY to use ArriveCan to submit your information digitally before you board your flight. In addition, International travelers who are five years of age or older are required to present Proof of a negative COVID-19 test to the airline before boarding a flight to Canada. It must be a molecular polymerase chain reaction test ( PCR test) and needs to be conducted within 72 hours prior to your departure.
Students can download the ArriveCAN mobile app through Google Play or the AppStore. They may also sign in Online. Travel and contact information must be submitted to ArriveCAN at least 48 hours before departure. Once you successfully submit your information, an ArriveCAN receipt will be displayed. Please take a screenshot or print out. You will need to present the ArriveCAN receipt to the Canadian border services officer when you enter Canada. After you have entered Canada, you must confirm through ArriveCAN that you have arrived at the address you provided for your quarantine or isolation location within 48 hours of your entry into Canada and to complete daily COVID-19 symptom self-assessments. When we are feeling anxious, we can often get stuck on worrying thoughts and upsetting emotions. Finding ways to distract ourselves and get active can be a great way to disrupt these patterns and focus on more positive things. Over the next few issues, I will provide some suggestions here.
