As we approach the final weeks of our 2019-2020 school year, J. Addison will officially end the school academic year on June 12, 2020. All programs will continue online. We ask that parents please continue helping with their children’s final assignments over the last few weeks.
For high school students, a reminder that the CPT project that the teachers have assigned is worth 30% of the final mark in place of the final exam. Our shared goal continues to be keeping students engaged in learning and to help our students meet with success in the best way that they can. Report cards will be issued and sent out via email in mid-June.
This year, we are exploring the idea of expanding Summer School programs. We will be offering English, ESL, and Math classes only. In addition to credit courses being offered, stay tuned as we are potentially planning upgrading courses during the months of July and August.
To quote our Minister of Education, Mr. Stephen Lecce, “Looking ahead to the Fall, when schools reopen, we know that school may not look or feel the same. While we have seen other provinces suggest what their classrooms may look like in September, the health and well-being of your child guides every decision we make. We will get through this together, and in doing so will always work in the best interest of your child, your family, and your community.”
As a school we will be working very hard with our Ministry of Education along with Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Williams. As a global community – we have never been more connected by an event or issue and now is the time to do everything we can to ensure we can soon return to life as we knew it not so long ago. We wish your family good health as we look ahead to 2020 -2021. Please continue to remain confident that we are here to support you, as we walk together as a hope-filled community.
