Hướng dẫn bay cho du học sinh đến Seneca College

Do I still need a travel support letter to travel and enter Canada?

Students who have no symptoms of COVID-19 & are in possession of a valid study permit or port of entry letter of introduction, a valid offer letter, enrolment verification letter, proof of funds & a quarantine plan no longer require a travel support letter.

We would like to advise that Seneca is a designated learning institution with an approved COVID readiness plan (IRCC website indicating Seneca’s approved status). The Canadian government deems international student travel to Canada as non-discretionary, even if their program is delivered entirely online, provided their Designated Learning Institution has a COVID-19 readiness plan in place.

Seneca has an approved COVID-19 readiness plan. A travel letter is typically not required. You need to ensure you have all required documents prior to travelling to Canada, which includes your Seneca Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and the Enrollment Verification Letter (EVL). Please kindly find attached the instruction on how to obtain your letter step-by-step. You should apply for your EVL as soon as possible as the letter will be available for you to download in your student home within 48 hours and can take up to 5 business days to process after we receive your request. We recommend you obtain your Enrollment Verification Letter at least one week before your trip.

Please reference Seneca’s checklists for pre-departure planning and arriving in Canada to assist with your travel plans.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have received many emails, inbox messages from students in Vietnam preparing for the departure to Canada. We are pleased to share that with the support and guidance from our management team at Seneca International and Seneca Vietnam, we just received some wonderful news that earlier this week, on August 10, that 3 of our new Vietnamese students successfully boarded Korean Air flights (2 students in Hanoi and 1 student in Ho Chi Minh City) and safely arrived in Toronto yesterday. All three students followed the above instructions, prepared the required documents including the Enrollment Verification Letter (no travel/support letter was issued by Seneca nor were asked for by Korean Air staff or Canadian custom officials) and entered Canada successfully.

We understand the current situation is extremely challenging for everyone especially for student who will be traveling to Canada, many for the very first time during a pandemic. Seneca Vietnam, on behalf of our International team is here, ready to support you, our valued partners along with your students as they prepare for the upcoming Fall 2021 semester.
