1. Where and when do I get my class schedule?
Class schedules are now available in WebAdvisor. If you aren’t seeing yours, please make sure you have paid your fees in full, AND submitted aCOVID-19 Readiness Formfor September 2021. Once the form has been submitted, it will take 1-2 business days for it to appear.
2. What are WebAdvisor and FOL, and how do I get in?
Please use this link for more information. When you applied to Fanshawe, you received an email from the College with a user name and password that you need to get into WebAdvisor and FOL (FanshaweOnline). If you can’t find it, you can go here to reset your password by using your student number.
3. What kind of equipment do I need to study online?
Here is the link that outlines requirements. Your academic division will also contact you if there are more specific requirements for your program.
4. Do I need to submit a COVID-19 Readiness Form?
Yes! All students need to submit the form, each semester if you are: in Canada, not coming to Canada (studying online), or planning to come to Canada. If you are travelling to Canada, please submit the form at least 5 days before you travel. Remember that class schedules can be released once the form has been submitted.
5. Do I have health insurance? What about my family?
Yes, and this is included in your fees! Please check the Morcare link on our website for contact information for Morcare and details about your coverage, including how to add your family. You will be able to print your Morcare card after the 10th day of the semester has passed. Students who are not studying in Canada will receive a credit on their accounts after the 10th day of classes.
6. How do I get a bus pass?
If you are in a full-time, blended program in London, an LTC bus pass is included in your fees. If you are in an online program, you can purchase one. Please see this link for more information.
7. What is a FANCard and how do I get one?
A FANCard is your student identification (and it is used as your LTC bus pass) and here is the information you need about getting your card.
8. Does Fanshawe require students to be vaccinated? How do I get a vaccine?
Fanshawe is requiring students living in residence or playing on varsity sports teams to be vaccinated (with Health Canada approved vaccines). If you would like to get a vaccine, they are free in Canada and are widely available. Here is the link to the Middlesex London Health Unit vaccine info page for more information.
9. How/where do I get textbooks?
Please contact our Retail Services representatives and they can help!
10. Are there online events to help me with arrival questions, immigration issues, etc?
Yes. Please check this link for info. If you miss something, please check our Youtube channel.
11. When do I need to decide if I’m going to defer? And how do I defer?
You should defer to a future semester if you are in a blended program, unvaccinated and can’t arrive by August 22 OR you are in a blended program, vaccinated (with vaccines approved by Health Canada) and can’t arrive by September 3. The deferral request needs to be added in the Comments section of VAS (Virtual Application System) by you or your education agent. Deferral requests cannot be accepted by email. 12. Will the College provide me with a Travel Support Letter?
No – because you don’t need one! Fanshawe is a DLI (Designated Learning Institution) with an Approved COVID-19 Readiness Plan. Please be sure to download the ArriveCan app and complete the COVID-19 Readiness Form.
13. I’m in a blended program and not sure when I can arrive. Can you provide me with late arrival approval?
To request late arrival approval, please make sure you have visa approval and a stamped passport, and that there are flights available. Don’t book your flight until you hear from Fanshawe, because late arrival approval is not guaranteed. Students who are not fully-vaccinated will still be required to arrive in Canada by August 22 in order to complete the 14-day quarantine before classes start. Unvaccinated students must email bdossantos@fanshawec.cafor permission to arrive later than August 22. Fully-vaccinated students must email bdossantos@fanshawec.ca for permission to arrive after September 3, 2021.
