The Government of Canada has announced that studies completed outside Canada until December 31, 2021 will count towards a future Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). For those who have already begun their studies outside of Canada, or those about to start, this new and extended measure reassures that your PGWP will not be in jeopardy due to complications caused by the pandemic.
The new measure applies to all international students who
- are enrolled in a PGWP-eligible program
- began, or will begin, a program in any semester from spring 2020 to fall 2021, or whose program was already in progress in March 2020
- have a study permit or approval for a study permit, or applied for a study permit prior to starting their program and are eventually approved
- meet all other PGWP criteria

Yorkville University’s Ontario and British Columbia campuses are on the Government of Canada’s approved list of Designated learning institutions reopening to international students. Please note that the government has expanded international travel restrictions. Do not make travel plans to Canada without speaking to your Admissions Advisor who will guide you on how to enroll in one of our approved readiness plans.
