Updates from International Student Services Team

Our team continues to expand and we have more levels of support with RISIA and RCIC designations to answer immigration and study permit questions. We are also offering regular drop-in advising in a virtual environment to answer questions from current students. Meet our team members online by reading their profiles.

Financial Award applications are being reviewed. These awards support students and recognize their contribution to the College and to our community.

The iGuide mentorship program has matched 200 new international students with peer mentors for their first semester at Langara College.

Important Information

English Language Admissions

Applicants for Spring 2022, Summer 2022, and Fall 2022 can meet category 2 or category 3 English Language Requirements with a score of Duolingo 110. Many Continuing Studies programs will also accept the Duolingo score, please visit the program page for more information.

IELTS minimum band requirements are not required for applicants in the Spring 2022, Summer 2022, and Fall 2022 Semesters.

Application Email Address – All Programs

It is important to use a valid student email address on all program applications to the College. The student will need to access this email address to activate other student accounts required for learning. Important information is also sent to the student email address before they begin their studies at the College.

Continuing Studies Applications

Programs in Continuing Studies, including LEAP, have a PDF application that is submitted through the fee payment portal. The portal can only accept one attachment and supporting documents can be added as pages at the end. A complete application package has all fields filled out, including email addresses, and includes supporting documents. If supporting documents can’t be attached to the application they can be sent separately by email to the address specified for the program. Admission requirements and application instructions are listed on the program website.

LEAP Sessions and Testing

We expect to offer all LEAP sessions with in-person instruction from January 2022. The placement tests will continue to be administered remotely. Applicants and their supporting agents can expect an email from the LEAP team 4-6 weeks before the start of the session with test information.

• Nov 11: College closed for Remembrance Day
• Dec 15: Fee payment deadline
• Dec 23: College closes until Jan 4 for winter break

New students will be invited to attend an orientation session at the start of the semester. Dates and format will be announced when that information is available.
