In our preparation to finalize program rosters and class schedules for start of Fall Semester, we will be undertaking a number of steps over the next week or so.  We are writing to advise you of these steps so that you i) will have advance notice of communications that will be sent automatically to you and students by IAS, ii) understand what next steps you must take for each student, and iii) can take the appropriate action prior to the deadline noted below:

  1. For students for which we received formal confirmation by the August 7 deadline that they did not want to start Remote Delivery Online classes with us on September 8, they have been withdrawn from the September 2020 intake and moved to a Pending status.  An automatic notification was sent to them that indicates their Offer has been revoked – however this does not mean they no longer have an Offer from Sault College.  Rather, it simply permits us to remove them from program rosters and class schedules for September, and will require you (via IAS) to request that the student’s Offer be Deferred and prioritized for the January or May intake.
  2. For students for which we did not receive any formal notification by the August 7 deadline that they wanted to start Remote Delivery Online classes with us on September 8, they too will be withdrawn from the September 2020 intake and moved to a Pending status.  An automatic notification will be sent to them that indicates their Offer has been revoked – again this does not mean they no longer have an Offer from Sault College.  This will simply require you (via IAS) to request that the student’s Offer be Deferred and prioritized for the January or May intake.
  3. For students who are unable to travel and attend physical, face-to-face classes for Programs for which there is no Remote Delivery Online option available (eg. Practical Nursing, OTA/PTA etc), they will also be withdrawn from the September 2020 intake and moved to a Pending status.  An automatic notification will be sent to them that indicates their Offer has been revoked – please note that this does not mean they no longer have an Offer from Sault College.  This will simply require you (via IAS) to request that the student’s Offer be Deferred and prioritized for the January or May intake.

In order to prioritize the students outlined in 1) or 2)  or 3) above for January or May seats, we require that you process your January or May deferral requests via IAS by September 10. This will permit us to process these requests and ensure an appropriate number of seats are reserved for January or May, prior to reopening our regular January and May intakes and receiving any new applications.
