Before you make any travel arrangements to Canada, please read about any restrictions and exemptions for travellers to Canada here.

 As of June 10th, only international students who were approved their study permit on or before March 18, 2020 are approved to travel to Canada.  No other international students are approved to travel to Canada at this time. Additionally, IRCC states that travellers to Canada should be travelling for an essential (non discretionary) purpose. As such, early travel to Canada is not recommended by the College.

 Algonquin College is currently working on plans for the 2020 fall semester for self isolation support for new international students. Please also note that self-isolation supports will not be offered prior to August 15th. We expect more details regarding self-isolation supports to be available by late June/early July. We recommend that you do not travel until you are provided with and have confirmation of self-isolation plans. The College will communicate any updates to you through the International Education Centre FAQ page (link found below).
