Thông tin cập nhật quan trọng từ George Brown College

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how all of us live, learn, and work, as we follow the guidance of our public health authorities to keep our communities safe. We wanted to share that George Brown College will deliver most programs online for the Spring 2021 Semester (May 10th, 2021 – August 20th, 2021)

In select programs where students need to complete hands-on clinical or lab work, we’re offering a hybrid model – where most of the program is delivered online with limited aspects of the course delivered on-campus. This hybrid model will be the exception to restrict the number of employees and students on campus at any given time and protect the health and safety of our community.

For more information on the specific delivery by program please visit the Spring 2021 Program Delivery page.

International Students Outside Canada

As per current IRCC regulations, beginning May 1st, 2021, only studies completed within Canada will count towards Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility.

If you plan to travel to Canada, George Brown College mandates international students who are travelling from outside Canada to download the iCent app to complete your quarantine plan form and attestation to comply with the Quarantine Act in Canada. For more information on how to prepare for quarantine plan and download the iCent app, please review the Arrival and Quarantine Guidelines.

Important Pre-Departure Reminders – Travelling to Canada

  • As of January 7, 2021, all foreign travellers to Canada will be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test completed within 72 hours prior to their flight.
  • Students are required to download and submit your travel details through the ArriveCan app prior to boarding your flights. Upon entering Canada, you must check-in and confirm arrival at your quarantine location and complete daily symptom self-assessments throughout your 14 day quarantine.
  • Students are required to have a valid 14-day quarantine plan to be presented to the Canada Border Security Agency (CBSA) officer at the time of entering Canada. The iCent app has more information about preparing for the 14-day quarantine including accommodation and food delivery options.
  • You must check-in daily through the iCent app during your 14-day quarantine period.
  • At the end of your 14-day quarantine in Canada, you test for COVID-19 and provide a negative test result for the college at: [email protected]. Students who fail to provide a negative test result for the college will not be allowed to enter college premises. Therefore, it is important that you arrive in Canada at least 16 – 20 days prior to your semester start date to ensure that you have enough time to complete your quarantine and get the COVID-19 test done.

As per current IRCC regulations, beginning May 1st, 2021, only studies completed within Canada will count towards Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility.

If you haven’t already, check out George Brown’s Online Learning site, which provides students with information on how to get the most out of remote learning at George Brown, including how to effectively communicate and collaborate virtually and how to achieve personal and academic goals.
