ECLC: Cập nhật nhanh tình hình tại Nova Scotia

I wanted to send a short update on the latest news about COVID-19 in Nova Scotia. Some of you may have heard that businesses are allowed to open again on June 5th. However, this does not mean that things will be back to normal! All the safety rules that have been in place since March are still in
place: everyone entering Nova Scotia must self-isolate for 14 days, people must keep 6-feet (2 meters) away from each other; no more than 10 people can gather together (and must keep 6 feet away from each other unless they are from the same family household or are part of the bubble family); and we must still wash our hands frequently with soap and water. There are many new health processes for businesses. They will be limiting how many people can come into the business and where we can stand or sit. There will be additional cleaning protocols, we may be required to wear a mask to enter, and we may be required to answer some questions about our health before we can enter a store or receive a service such as a haircut.

ECLC will not be re-opening to students because we cannot maintain the 6-feet (2 meters) rule in our school or in our classes. In the interest of safety for our students and staff, we will be continuing with our online classes until at least the end of this term (July 31).

We know from our regular surveys with students that they are very happy with our online programs – their satisfaction rate has continued to climb, up to almost 90% in the survey we conducted last week. This is very good news and makes our decision easier. We will re-assess the situation at the end of July based on the government guidelines at that time.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to welcoming your students in person very soon. In the meantime, we are sending you our best wishes to weather the COVID storm.
