Kwantlen Polytechnic University: Cập nhật thông tin về các khóa Mùa Thu 2020

British Columbia is ramping up the reopening of its economy. We are seeing an increase in economic and social activity across the board from people going back to office, students returning to high school (please note that post-secondary institutions still remain closed under the mandate), restaurants reopening with increased capacity, etc. Life is becoming closer and closer to the pre-COVID era here in Vancouver. It feels great!

–          Dr. Bonnie Henry, BC Provincial Health Officer, is the person of the highest title in public health in British Columbia. She was recently featured in a New York Times article as one of the best “top doctors” in the world to deal with this public health crisis. You can read the article for free here. Thanks to Dr. Henry and her team, BC has been successful in bending the curve on COVID-19. BC is being considered as a model province for the other provinces across the country.

–          I know you are all aware by now, the Fall 2020 will be mostly online, with some courses being partly on-campus due to the requirement of lab/equipment use. While the IRCC and KPU do not restrict students from taking the online classes while being outside Canada without a valid student visa/study permit, I strongly recommend choosing the online studies only after the students have secured a student visa or a study permit approval. This is to comply with IRCC’s rules that students’ studies will only be counted towards their PGWP after their study permit application is approved.

Finally, I want to thank you for supporting KPU during this difficult time. The Education Planner BC just recently had a leadership meeting with the principals of all post-secondary institutions who receive applications through the EPBC portal, and EPBC shared that KPU is one of the only few institutions in BC that did not see a decline in applications for Fall 2020! This is obviously good news for KPU, but more importantly, it reflects our cooperated effort in promoting and recruiting students for KPU! It also speaks to the confidence that students have in our quality education.
